Tricks of the Trade

Making the Most of Your Wedding Day

The cake, the shoes, the invitations, the dress….the list of things a bride must remember for a perfect wedding day is endless! Well, you've landed in the right place because this one-stop-shopping destination has got a little wedding advice; and a lot of great products to help make the day as special as you want it to be.

Do It Yourself

Ladies – you are confident, successful businesswomen, mothers, and partners. You juggle your time and your expertise between your various roles and responsibilities in your everyday life, so what's a little planning for a wedding tossed into all of that?

If you are organized and have done the research, planning your wedding will go from high-stress to a great source of enjoyment that will be remembered by all:

Our Top Tip: Don't sweat the small stuff.

For instance, there is a chance you might have to prepare yourself to accept the fact that hydrangeas won't be in season, or don't fit your budget, so try opening yourself to the advice of professionals and friends for alternatives. Set out, and be clear on your expectations, and then assign planning tasks to your closest friends and family – they will be thrilled to be involved in your special day. The less you stress the more you will enjoy every aspect of your wedding from the planning stages, right up to the final few hours of dancing the polka in your bare feet.

Beauty Tricks

You will be radiant: your heart will make sure of that as you walk down the isle on your wedding day! These additional tricks will cover you off on the beauty basics outside of what comes naturally!

Our Top Tip: Don't experiment with any new products or new beauty services in the days leading up to your wedding.

Your worst nightmares could actually come true! It is not uncommon for women to make the mistake of using new products and services within days of the wedding, which often leads to skin irritation, sensitive teeth, reactions to make-up and so much more! Even getting a massage on the wedding day can be a mistake if you don't have regular treatments.

Get the ultimate glow on your wedding day:

  • Teeth: whiten and brighten for a lasting impression in your photographs
  • Skin Care: uue an exfoliant for a couple of weeks leading up to the wedding will leave your complexion healthy and radiant. Don't forget to drink lots of water for all its health benefits, the least of which is healthy skin.
  • Make-up: try to stick with neutral colors that will afford you a little longevity in your wedding memories. There are one or two brides from the 80's who learned that lesson the hard way. Also, don't go overboard. If you don't regularly wear make-up, you should rely on a natural palette. The rule of thumb for make-up on any given day is to pair a soft eye with bold lips, or a bold eye with soft lips: NEVER both at the same time!
  • Nails: most brides choose a French Manicure treatment on their wedding day. It is a clean finish and showcases the wedding rings beautifully.

    Jewellery

Lets jump right in at what's important here: the rings! Jewellery should be subtle and never outshine the symbol of your commitment to each other.

Our Top Tip: Tone it down!

The neckline of your dress typically dictates what type of jewellery you should accessorize with:

    • Strapless: best for necklaces paired with stud-style earrings, or drop earrings if you choose not to wear a necklace.
    • Halter: never good for a neck treatment as the ties around the neck compete with the necklace.
    • Heavily beaded (embossed): very simple jewellery – stud earrings at the most.
    • Long sleeves: very rarely lend themselves successfully to bracelets of any sort.

Finally, brooches look great as a focal point on simplistic styles and are a great way to incorporate “something old” with a family heirloom.
