North American Landscape Trees
Despite the longings many of us have for unfettered wilderness and experiences of nature "red-in-tooth-and-claw, " most of us live in man-made landscapes, and our encounters are mainly with domestic animals and plants instead of tigers and boojum trees. For this reason, I heartily recommend North American Landscape Trees as a practical way for the typical Northern Hemisphere dweller to take time out from their busy urban lifestyle and do some botanizing. In fact, this is how I first discovered this book. I was walking through a local Seattle park and saw a mother and her children closely examining trees and referring to this handsomely illustrated book containing listings of 5, 000 kinds of trees (including 950 species). Highly Recommended. Author(s): Lee Jacobson. Binding Paperback. Publisher(s): Ten Speed Press. Label: Ten Speed Press.
