What is the Comparison Clipboard and how do I use it? 

The comparison clipboard is Yahoo! Canada Shopping's product comparison tool. When viewing products in a category, users can click the “check to compare” box beside products to have them instantly loaded into a floating clipboard.

To use, simply find the products you wish to compare and “check” the compare box to the left of the product price. A clipboard will instantly pop up, adding the product. Each new product you add will appear at the bottom of the comparison clipboard list. If you find your list is getting too long, you can delete products from your list using the orange “x” beside it.

Once you have products on the clipboard that you would like to compare, simply click on the “Compare” link to be brought to a detailed product comparison chart.

How do I search for a product on Yahoo! Canada Shopping? 

Searching for a product on Yahoo! Canada Shopping is easy. Simply look for the “Search” box at the top of every Yahoo! Canada Shopping page, type in the name of the product you are looking for, and either hit enter on your keyboard or click on the search icon. You will be shown the most relevant products and categories to the search term entered.

If you are having troubles pinpointing an exact product, try using different spellings or variations on a word (e.g. television instead of TV). It is also a good idea to be less specific in searching (e.g. Acer Travelmate instead of Acer TravelMate 2441WXMi-FR - Celeron M 410 / 1.46 GHz).

Are the prices listed in Canadian Dollars? 

Yes! Although Yahoo! Canada Shopping lists products from US merchants, all prices are listed in Canadian $, with the US conversion referenced below.

Do the products ship from inside Canada? 

No. Products are also shipped from the USA. Currently you can only view shipping costs, border duties, & excess delivery times on the merchant site.

How do I browse products by their individual features? 

All product listing pages contain a left-hand column that contains many different filters for the products displayed. This includes a simple text-based “refine by keyword” search, a product price range (displaying products that fall within the price range) and a list of product-specific features.

Clicking on one or more of the product-specific features will help you narrow your search, displaying only the products that contain the attribute(s) you selected.

How do I sort products by price? 

When you are on a product listing page, you are able to not only sort the products by highest and lowest price, but also by name, popularity and the number of stores that sell it. To sort products by any of the above, simply find the “sort by” drop down menu located above the product listings.

How do I find the product I am looking for? 

When looking for a product, you have two options. First, you can search directly for a product by typing a product name or keyword into the search box at the top of the page. You can narrow the results that your search will return by selecting the category in which your requested item might fall. This can be done by selecting a specific category from the “all categories” box, next to the “search” box. A search page will be returned when you hit enter or the search icon that will list all product results available.

Second, you can browse through the main categories on Yahoo! Canada Shopping. Browsing will allow you to not only find the product you are seeking, but will also allow you to compare that product with others just like it.

How do I get the best price possible? 

Once you find a product you are looking for, click on the product name or picture to view its detailed page. This page will outline all the merchants who currently have the product listed, and the price they are selling it for. Use the “sort by” feature on this page to list the lowest price at the top.

Does Yahoo! Canada Shopping sell the products? 

Yahoo! Canada Shopping does not sell the products we list. We merely act as a portal to the companies who sell them.

How do I purchase a product? 

Click on the “see it” button to be directed to the merchant’s website where you can complete the transaction when you are ready to purchase an item. The “see it” button can be located on the product listing page and the product details page.
