Directed by David Acomba, Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave was written by Maynard Collins and based on his stage play. Picture this: On the night he died, American country music superstar Hank Williams spots a roadside café from his limousine window and idly imagines what it would be like if he stopped his car and gave an impromptu concert in the café. With lots of Williams' songs, stage banter and personal anecdotes, the film offers some interesting insights into the singer. Sneezy Waters portrays Williams, as he did in the stage version of this story, and he holds the screen quite well in what is essentially a one-man show.
