Galaxy DX 979 CB Radio - Considered the little brother to the Galaxy DX959, the DX979 deserves it's own recognition. The shining qualities in this radio include single sideband ( USB / LSB ) as well as a large easy-to-read display. The built-in auto-calibbrating SWR meter is a trademark feature that you won't find in many other CB's. The difference of this radio versus the Galaxy DX959 is that you won't find a frequency display, as a result the overall size of the chassis has been decreased to that of the Cobra 29 series. Something else you won't find on the Galaxy DX959 is the starlite illuminated faceplate, a feature this radio offers that allows the easiest use in a dark or night environment.
