Christina Milian
Christina Milian may be another graduate from the Disney Channel school of precocious teen presenters turned pop stars, but as her self-titled debut demonstrates she's got a lot more "balls" than your average Britney or Mandy. As well as co-penning Jennifer Lopez "Play", having a number one US single with super cool Ja Rule (the pair team up again on album track "Get Away") she's also co-written the majority of the tracks on the album. Concise and perfectly formed, the majority of the 11 tracks are adventurous, poppy R'n'B numbers, which reflect the trials and tribulations of teenage life. "Twitch" is a remarkably catchy number, guaranteed to make you jolt to the repetitive rhythm of the tune. The Artful Dodger produced track "Satisfaction Guaranteed", sounds more Shanks and Bigfoot, than Craig David. Proving that she has got some manners and she's not at it "…Three sixty-five days a year, twenty-four a day" (as the pumping "AM To PM" suggests), Christina closes with the Toni Braxton style ballad "Thank You". --John Galilee Binding Audio CD.
